WHAT DOES VIRTUAL RIDER MEAN?
Maybe you are unable to get time off of work, or you are not able to ride 100 kilometer’s a day for a week or longer, but you do want to participate with RIDE 2012. There is an option for you to register as a virtual rider.
There are many different ways that you can sign up as a virtual rider…
- The ride is coming through your town/city but you are unable to be a part of it on the day that they arrive. You can organize an event for your church where you plan a route within your town/city and have members of your church and community come and ride 10, 20, or 50 kilometer’s.
- The ride is not coming anywhere near where I live but you want to be a part of what’s happening. You can organize an event for your church where you plan a route within your town/city and have members of your church and community come and ride 10, 20, or 50 kilometer’s.
- Youth Groups- Youth Groups can get together on a Saturday or Friday night and go to a fitness Centre and ask for the use of stationary bicycles. Everyone can get sponsors for the length of ride in kilometers that they do or a challenge of who can do the fastest kilometer.
- Small Groups- Small groups, men’s groups, women’s groups, cell groups, Bible study groups, can challenge one another or other groups within the church or other district churches for the amount of kilometers that they can ride.
- Your church can decide and see whether they can ride all the way across Canada. You can have a visual before the church and as people ride at a gym or in their home, they add the kilometers together and move a rider across the country until you reach your final destination.
- Come up with your own unique idea of how you can be involved and share that with us.
It’s not important what it looks like… It’s more important that we are all involved and raising awareness for our inner cities. We need to unite together and recapture the vision of our founder A.B. Simpson who went to the immigrants and down-trodden of society in order to present the truth of the Gospel to those who had never heard. Now is the time for us all to get involved and do something tangible to demonstrate justice for our inner cities. Go to www.ride2012.ca and register as a virtual rider and let’s get involved!
